Dave has a way of pulling out of ones head the words one wants to use. It's one if his best forum attributes imho aside from his vast general knowledge and research ability, oh and his photography skills plus his vam skills etc lol.
Still haven't gotten the area where the scribbles are to be found. Here's an example - shamelessly ripped from VAMworld, for accreditation purposes - showing the scribbles area and the kind of resolution necessary for it to be useful: Now, here are the problems with attributing 1921-P's. First, with over 40 million minted, there are....quite a few die pairs, and we've by no means identified them all yet, nor may we ever. Second, unless there is a clear "smoking gun" attribute, we're reduced to these scribbles (not seen on all of them, anyway) or pretty minute doubling of either date, stars, profile or certain other features. Your Dino-Lite isn't capable of enough resolution to show them in attribution-level quality, if this is the best it can do. That's why I say attributing 1921-P's isn't for the faint of heart.
Lol, you busted me. I was lying. But I'm not a liar. According to my lovely wife, I'm only a half-liar.
Never knew you to be one Eddy....not even 1/2 of one. Chalk it up to old age and 'I forgot I was married'.......
Be wary. Idols have a way of failing to live up to your expectations at the most inopportune of times, and infallibility only exists in fiction.
I wish I had a mentor for the hobby, I learnt by reading the Redbook, Wayne Miller's book, Breens encyclopedia, and John Highfills book..... IMO, Wayne Miller's and John Highfills silver dollar books(though outdated) are a must read for the Morgan dollar enthusiast!!!
