I don't know why this one is gold, but here's one for $1.80: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WR-Zimbabw...998268&hash=item284a8621f9:g:9zgAAOSwonBaQJwO Some of the $100 trillion notes on ebay are silver and some of them are gold. Does anybody know why?
What boggles my mind about Zimbabwean currency is that there was also a $1 bill in the same series. It was absolutely worthless. The $100 trillion bill was only worth about 50¢, so the $1 bill wasn't worth the paper it was printed on.
Apparently I was very wrong. These notes are going from $100 or more. Maybe they'll continue to increase in value.
I ordered four of them before realizing it's some sort of scam. The same seller is selling five hundred trillion notes for $1,248.99 and one 100 trillion note for $249.99. These bills are shipped from China.
"WR Zimbabwe 100 Trillion Dollars Banknote Color Gold Bill World Money Collection" Got no idea what a "Color Gold Bill World Money Collection" is. He's selling genuine bills for $249.00. https://vod.ebay.com/vod/FetchOrderDetails?ViewPaymentStatus&purchaseOrderId=20000132898377 genuine bills: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Zimbabwe-1...m=281789318269&_trksid=p2054502.c100229.m3211
I did that that immediately after ordering them. I'm gonna call the credit card company to tell them to watch for charges that may come from bogus sources.
I'm wondering what kind of scam it is. Are the bills completely fake or are they modified in some way?
There are also silver and gold foil US dollars and other currencies. The vast majority of these are privately made products designed to separate you from your real money. There is a new foil note from Mongolia that is genuine.
Reply from seller: "Hi, They just replica of the original note. Used for collection and decoration. Kind regards - gol5873" .
I did some searching online and several websites are selling them for $100+. I wish I had bought a whole bunch of them when they were $5.
