What boggles my mind about Zimbabwean currency is that there was also a $1 bill in the same series. It was absolutely worthless. The $100 trillion bill was only worth about 50¢, so the $1 bill wasn't worth the paper it was printed on.

Apparently I was very wrong. These notes are going from $100 or more. Maybe they'll continue to increase in value.

I ordered four of them before realizing it's some sort of scam.
The same seller is selling five hundred trillion notes for $1,248.99 and
one 100 trillion note for $249.99.

These bills are shipped from China.

What sort of scam? Are they counterfeit?

Sorry, I don't want to be prejudice, but "from China"...do you have to ask?

I've ordered cheap jewelry and a coin microscope from China, but not any sort of "collectable"

I did that that immediately after ordering them.
I'm gonna call the credit card company to tell them to watch for
charges that may come from bogus sources.

All the stuff I've ever ordered from China, I've never had any bogus charges (cross my fingers)

I'm wondering what kind of scam it is. Are the bills completely fake or are they modified in some way?

There are also silver and gold foil US dollars and other currencies. The vast majority of these are privately made products designed to separate you from your real money. There is a new foil note from Mongolia that is genuine.

The 1.00 note was issued before inflation hit leading to higher notes being issued.

That's what I would have guessed.

    I have the $100 trillion bill, a $500,000 bill and a $1 bill.

    Reply from seller:

    "Hi,
They just replica of the original note.
    Used for collection and decoration.
    Kind regards

I did some searching online and several websites are selling them for $100+. I wish I had bought a whole bunch of them when they were $5.

Now remember, kids, upon re-monetization the low denoms reappear!
