I'll root for you but only if you let me pick which denarius type I get. That will sound like a good deal when you consider that winning $400 million should get us aurei I'd think. ;)

I'm good with that as long as you both buy me a denarius with your $200 million. Yes, I can be bought and no, my rooting will not be cheap. :troll:

Nice "authentic" coin lawyer. Don't let some clown ruin your new coin!

They are different dies as has been mentioned. Or do you not understand how that works?

Awesome coin Sallent. Had a Caesar myself but the Venus obverse type, but I sold it some time ago. It wasn't it great shape plus it helped me buy something I wanted a lot more, so I don't miss it. Plus now with a Caesar slot open in my collection I'd rather now settle on a portrait lifetime coin of him one day.

I figured I'd actually check the reference. Looks to be Alfoldi Type IV, – (A2/R13 – unlisted die combination).

You have every reason to be proud. Nicely chosen!
That is quite a nice example of a highly sought-after type for many collectors of roman coins.

How many dies of each are recorded? Is it unusual on these to have such a span between numbers or was R13 added later?

    Wow, thanks!

Here is one last beauty shot, in its coin flip, before I leave my office and head home. I'll confess to being a little too concentrated on the coin today. I could have worked a little harder. :banghead:

    Another silver coin, eh? (congrats)

Yah, I really like that one => I actually asked JA about it, but he said some lawyer had already claimed it!!

Man, trolls are a bit much ... but they sure fire-up the crowd!!

=> congrats again on a pretty cool coin (sadly, I don't have a JC yet)

Oh sorry, I have a Jesus Christ ... but I don't have a Julius Caesar (the original JC)

Yeah, those ambulance chasers work fast. And yeah, another silver coin. I should seek help with that silver addiction.
