I'll curl up in Daggarjon's corner and cry, too. I think points should be awarded on how much we improve at grading. :

 

Lol, I think you too will do fine. Were both a whole lot closer than me. I honestly think it was a tad undergraded, but I don't know much on grading nickels. Still a pretty one though. Lol, next phase is going to be fun.

i dont think anyone was farther away then me on their vote -- i said AU-50 so unless you said MS-70, i was off by 10 sheldon points ... I win by being the farthest off .. oh- that wasnt the contest.. shoot

 

I WAS gonna guess lower, but changed my guess based on the fact that I wasn't even in the ballpark. Then again, I've never really gotten into grading.

Come on guys, grading is an art, not a science. I just got lucky. I was deciding between MS62 and MS60, but I was lucky enough to have gone with MS60!

 

That would explain why I'm not good at it! :lol: Actually, I'm just not experienced at it, so for me it's just a matter of getting practice.

Gee, I didn't guess right but all in all, don't think I graded too badly

 

everybody did pretty good!! but to think about it.. most everyone OVER graded the coin i was one of the only ones whodidnt (i secretly pat myself on the shoulder) This contest should have been like the change jar i wouldnt have won, but i would have been closer 2nd place aint so bad

 

You'd have been third. I voted AU55 along with someone else. But I like your thinking.

I don't mean to be impatient, but I'm not going to be around on Saturday or Sunday...so when does the next stage start dak?

But dak lives in Alaska. If he went away, then he either went REAL far, or not very far at all. I, for one, can use a couple days off. Got too many other things, like real life, getting in the way of my coin contest.

 

Yea , my wife just put together a "surprise" trip for us, We're off for the memorial day weekend to do a little shopping down in Anchorage and then heading for the hills to camp for a couple days, I'm sorry... When I get back and the holiday is over we'll resume... for the time being for any dedicated contest followers, I'll post a couple small challenges with a couple points attached to tie ya over for the weekend!

 

I took a day off too. Walked into work and said..
"Im not working Sunday"
Well, I got alot of laughs and everyone thought I was joking...because I never call in etc.
No one believed me. I kept saying I wasn't but they just didnt believe me...even crossed my day off the schedule.
Well...my boss shows up and this was our conversation

"hear you scratched your day off the schedule"
"yup"
"your not working sunday?"
"nope"
"really?"
"yup"
"so, your really not going to work sunday?"
"nope"
stares at me...."ok"
