The reason I sell coins on the website that I'm on is because of no fee's etc. I do not like pay pal and never have , this is why I acceppt only CHECKS or POSTAL MONEY ORDERS I have had no bad checks but have sent back a few money orders because they were not Postal. I would be very pleased to be able to list a few coins every week , I would probably back off the webstore This is just my feedback I believe this is the top Web site on the internet. Sandy
Yep, I liked the old way alot better as well, you could add more pics and the whole format was alot more open and conducive to selling. The existing classifieds section is a bit too restrictive, jmho.
I think forums too, for all the reasons listed. I've been thinking there should be ways that members can leave feedback on purchases. My UN is also my eBay UN so that helps, but CT feedback would be better. Can there be a place on our profile page where members can leave feedback like visitor messages?
I need to look closer, but I like just a plain, old forum section for selling stuff. It's easiest to just create a regular thread and list all the stuff you have with descriptions and pictures. Buyers can ask questions, etc. right in the thread. The ONLY thing I ask is the ability to indefinately edit your post in the FS section. That way when others buy your coins you can update your original thread with SOLD or just remove sold stuff. THANKS FOR DOING THIS PETER! I can't tell you how happy I am with the change from what I've seen!!!
I'm looking at several options for leaving feedback, marking threads sold or auto-closing them after a period. Allowing unlimited edits just doesn't work with this software, but I'm considering options on that too.
I have not used it since it was the old format. Just not a fan of the current version. While I have sale threads elsewhere I have not bothered here due to the layout.
Don't worry about the feedback, it's not a big deal because people can always use a 3rd party system like heatware. Will you please make it so people can respond to FS posts? If we can't edit our posts, at least we will be able to refresh them by relisting the available items below the original post. I also recommend setting a minimum post count for being able to use the FS section....pehaps like 250 posts. This should keep out the scammers just looking to come here and quickly rip someone off. Thanks again for doing this and listening Peter.
Thad - what about the folks who are breaking the rules already ? And it hasn't been a week yet ! And post count has little to do with it pal. Peter's trying to work things out right now to regulate members so they have to follow the rules. And if it weren't for that, I'd already be handing out infractions. 'Course I may start anyway given the flagrant disregard for the rules that some are showing. So fair warning folks.
Yeah if someone has 5 or 10 good sales then they could receive a 'gold badge' icon that will qualify them as a trusted person and in my case they could just 'grandfather' me in since I have made at least 10 good sales. :thumb:
Thanks for bringing back the open/auction forums, and expanding them. My use of CoinTalk had fallen off in the last year mainly because that was a huge lost resource to me. Thanks again!
I didn't know people were breaking any rules there already. Perhaps they need a mod beatdown? LOL Where's the official rules sticky thread in the FS section? That could explain the problem.
No offense, but almost nobody reads that forum. Especially not users who have been around a while. A sticky at the top of the forum the rules are for works far better.
Well how about reading this then - Please post your coins, currency, and related items for sale in here, one post per seven days. Please post your want lists in this section, one post per seven days please. Please post your trade offers in this section, one post per seven days Do not start more than one thread per week. You are allowed one post per calender week. I know it's really hard to see and all, especially since it's posted directly under the link you have to click on to even to get to the ad forums
