Thanks for the compliment. If all goes to plan this will be a smashing success. So far CTU is off to a good start :woot:

There wouldn't happen to be any graphic designers on coin talk would there? Every University needs a cool logo.

Just a comment, I fail to see how this idea has anything to do with - The future of CoinTalk.

Oh I'm all for education. The point is CoinTalk is not sponsoring this, CT is not affiliated with it, CT is not running it, CT doesn't and won't have anything to do with it. Peter merely allowed Josh to post about it here. So it doesn't have anything to do with the future of CoinTalk.

Doug has a point. CoinTalk is an educational site already and anyone touting an offer of education here should be careful that they have the requisite knowledge to do so.

Some of the members here are extremely knowledgeable and it is a bit presumptuous for an individual to think that they can give university level knowledge to an already graduate-level audience.

I applaud the effort, but I don't think that the OP grasps that many in this community would be a bit beyond basic numismatics and in fact already educate hundreds of people at a very high level.

That said, if CT is about sharing knowledge, then even an exchange of basic information, provided it is accurate, is a good thing.

  18. I agree with you Mike. However, it seems that Peter has vetted and endorses it. TC

I'm just surprised Peter would allow anyone to use his site to recruit members for an outside service, be it a helpful endeavor or not. Nothing against josh's coins, but he is calling this CoinTalk University, so that implies an association.

I am not saying Peter didn't give his mark of approval, but it would be nice if he could at least confirm he did in fact support this, and if generous, explain why...

As stated I will not be doing this on my own. I said I would like those who are more knowledgeable to help out with this. Be it for just a few lessons or to teach an entire class. Some people have already offered to help out.
