I don't think you need to pay $30-$35 for a one way transport. It's only a 25 minute ride from the airport. That would pay for a nice diner somewhere local. I'm trying to make the days' travel a little shorter (Time wise) but I can deal with it if I have too. At that time of night, unpacking and resting up for the next day is my main goal. I can't help but notice there are many livery companies in the area charging much less. Rather than pick one out of a hat, I was wondering who others have used for their own arrangements. Hopefully they are not as slow. KoinJester: I have not found the need to rent a car either. There are free shuttles running through out the area and even on International Drive itself. Unfortunately, not to and from the airport. Larry: Curious, what's typical on the charges? Say to the convention center, since I'm staying just across the street.
I'm not sure but I probably paid $25 to 30 last year with tip. After hours of travel, I'm ready to get to the hotel fast.
Heck, I'm driving down and staying with friends in Winter Haven, Like to feel like the world is at my command.......
I see the FUN site has finally posted a bourse floor plan but no directory yet. They are only 30 days away from the convention. I thought the directory would be available around now. When did it publish last year?
MAN I am so pumped to go again this year! Best show of the year or a close second to the ANA World's Fair of Money in Chicago. Takes me 2 days just to give every table a decent "once-over." Jan.9th can't get here fast enough... it's like my Christmas morning! The commercial side, anyway! LOL!
Still no schedule on the Fun site. Anyone know when the NGC lunch is scheduled or received an invitation?
If I have the information right, the show will be in the old part of the center. I don't know much about it. The last few years several of us here have met out front in the smoking area to get off our feet and talk coins. We will figure out a spot and post it for those that wish to join in. For those that drive in. Chris post something a while back about the parking at the old center. It may be tough to get a spot that's close. Several hotels have buses that can get you there.
Driving directions - http://www.funtopics.com/content/forms/DrivingDirectionsJan2014.pdf There's a parking lot there but it's no where near as big as the one for the other concourse, and I have no idea where over-flow parking will be.
I hope Chris re-posts the suggestions for parking.........I hate paying for parking and especially so if I plan to attend more than one day.
I should arrive at the convention center area on Friday January 10th. I'll probably make it to the show for a few hours Friday & plan to spend all day Saturday at the show. I'll have a car. If anyone wants to get together for drinks and/or dinner Friday January 10th, there are many local places we could meet. Saturday night might be another option for me.
