He had a nasty character. After he defeated Niger, he had him beheaded/ also his family murdered, he did the same to Clodius and his family, after the Battle Lugdunum. He also presecuted the people of Lugdunum. He ordered the Christians to be presecuted/ executed many in the Senate. Not the type you would want to have a beer with.

I'm only missing the first of the five good emperors (Nerva) + the First of the five bad emperors (Caligula)

I believe you are holding SS and others against the standards of today. He certainly was not the only emperor/ruler who executed his enemies. Besides, when I think of good v bad emperors, I think of what good was accomplished for the empire.

You got a valid point there. My only peeve was that he ordered the executions of innocent Family members, like the wife and kids. However, he was a good emperor in his administration/ military achievements:). Probably did a bad job on bringing up Caracalla:( It was the same for Ghenhiz Khan, Tamerlame, Alexander III. Julius Ceasar....all great captains of history/ leaders but rough on their enemies/ esp. the ones that did not capitulate. On the otherhand, you had great ones like Robert E Lee/ Friedrich Der Grosse/ Louis II "Great Conde"....treated their opponents fairly.
