One very unique observation that I just noticed is "condition". Now yes understood they didn't circulate like coins. But to my believe that they were small bits of treasure and for the most part cared for as the remembrance that they represent. Yes true over time they layed in "that drawer" you all know "that drawer" Ill bet ea h of you have one....somewhere in the house....most probably in the kitchen.
You all know what I'm talkin bout....that drawer with the concert stub from 1974 ...lol. then you dig deeper and its holy cow... it's my 7 grade retainer!

Did you acquire this in Egypt? The reason I ask as we were in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, visiting a centoe ...a limestone like hole or cave see image.
Anyway I had a silver cartouse piece made spelling out my wifes name in Aztec in gold lettering.
Im sure tourist attractions all have some sort of souvenirs. download.jpeg-1.jpg
The water was cold, fresh, clean, with small black cat fish swiming around the walls.
This place was about as close as one could come to Jurassic park. Top side huge green Aquinas laying in the tropical folage.

How about this token? A re-valued token from a pub called the Midland Tavern on Erskine St. in Birmingham, England! In contact now with someone who has an interest in local pub history to see if we can get this undated token a time frame! Polish_20220904_170558300.png Polish_20220904_170622738.png

No. It was found in a lot of tokens I had the opportunity to search through.

No it was 70 - 71 time frame and with a fill you got a glass if my memory serves me 72 was the 1st price hike...when the Saudi's were made aware that Americans would pay anything to drive their cars. That's the year a 69-71 used Datsun or Toyota cost more than a new Ford or Chevy. Also gas prices here in the mid Atlantic was always cheaper then elsewhere, as the Chesapeake made shipping easier as well cheaper.

    Paddy,

You might be 10 years off. 1n 1962 sub 25 cent gasoline could be found. My Dad owned a couple gas stations in the early 1970's. Gasoline was closer to 50 cents per gallon before the run up in 1972 which pushed it over $1.

Then the inflation of the 1980's killed everything cheap.
