…and I’m going to ignore that Domitian was just posted to post my $9 denarius that was in black concrete-like encrustations and tooth-picked free after about 4 hours. Needs more cleaning but figured I’d leave it like this…

As long as no one takes my Marcus Aurelius spot it’s all good xD. I’m waiting for that.

    BEST. EMPEROR. EVER.

OK, my 24h wait has elapsed so I get to post Trajan! Sestertius, denarius, and a bonus quadrans:

Wow, is that last one above a bearded Trajan? Never seen that (or paid close enough attention to the type, I suppose).

    Hadrian.

So I’m guessing Trajan was one of the few clean shaven Emperors?

I think Augustus was clean shaven too right?

But most I’ve seen have had beards.

Hadrian was was the first with a full beard, although both Nero and Titus had sort of scruffy neck beards.

Hmm that’s interesting. I wonder why the change from clean shaven to bearded.

Did Julius Caesar or Marc Antony have a beard? I believe Pompey did have one.
