Unfortunately, I just cleaned out my folder consisting of tests and quizes I had taken in my World History class during the 1st Semester of the school year, of which most I averaged a B+/A- overall score.

That's what I get for being organized! :p

awww. I'll be graduating this coming march. Most of my subjects now doesnt require tests/exams since we're more on reviewing stuff for the board exam. But I did a thesis (The Efficiency of the Bureau of Customs in Zamboanga, Philippines) last sem which I got a 96% mark. Is it eligible?

  5. Seems it would be easy without useing some kind of id for a person to use anyones paper that gets a good grade.
I see no way to do it because you cant show names.
What is to keep anyone from useing a paper he or she did not do themselves?
Should still be an interesting contest and seems to be on hopes all are honest.
I hope each one will sumit only his or her work as ive always belived this site has been honest with honset people leading it.

Well, I am in my final year of dental school, so we only have a couple classes and there really aren't any "papers" these days. It's mostly all clinical based stuff...and unfortunately many of our instructors just give everyone "Bs" in clinic because they don't want to take the time to actually grade our treatment. So, I really have no papers to show...but I will post my last term's grades. I don't know if that qualifies me for this contest or not...if it does not that's OK.

I actually wanted to say something about this contest. I think it is a really nice idea that the OP is encouraging everyone to work hard in school. I think I am in somewhat of a unique position on this topic because of my current position in my last year of graduate school. I was one of those people who did quite well in both high school and college...partially because I was a naturally gifted student but also because I worked very hard. I went to college with a goal in mind and I looked at college as a job. I did have some fun and I enjoyed my college experience, but above all I busted my butt and got excellent grades. As a result, I was accepted into my top choice for dental school (they took 75 students from over 1000 applicants). Then the real work began...and I can tell you that dental school has been the greatest challenge of my life. But, in June I will graduate with the title "Doctor" and be able to begin practicing. I can tell you the road has been very long and hard...and not always fun. But, it has been well worth it. I wouldn't go back and do anything different. It has set me up for a very nice life and a good career and that was what I wanted. So, I really encourage everyone to do your very best because in the long run it pays off and it is completely worth it. I promise.

So, here are my Fall grades:

    CDEN702 Ethics in Dentistry: 3.0 (B)
    CDEN742 Dental Practice Operations: 3.5 (B+)
    DEN756 Comp Care III: 3.0 (B)
ENDO740 Endodontic Clinic: 2.0 (C) - Unfortunately, this is the grade you get if you do not treat a Root Canal that term (and I didn't have a patient that needed one) - not the most fair system. :(
    ENDO743 Endodontic Principles: 4.0 (A)
    OS733 Advanced Oral Surgery: 3.5 (B+)
    PEDO741 Pediatric Dentistry Clinic III: 3.0 (B)
    PER741 Periodontology Clinic III: 3.5 (B+)
    REST742 Restorative Dentistry Clinic III: 3.0 (B)

Honestly, I believe the rules went out the window on this one. I suppose you can post anything. A report card is fine, report, paper, you name it. yes continuing education certainly counts. Just wanted to motivate people to keep trying hard in school. The next contest is going to be geared towards more seasoned coin vets.

This was a great idea for a contest, its too bad the rules weren't that clear. My recommendation (if everyone else agrees with this) is to stop this contest and have another one. If that isn't allowed, then I guess that you just have to rely on the honesty of CT members.

I'm pursuing a computer science major, but am currently taking an introductory Business Management class to apply toward my degree. Going into the class, I didn't expect to learn anything valuable toward my degree. However, already this course has taught me quite a bit about leadership and communication between people, inside and outside of work. I learned of something that I had not heard before, which is "Emotional Intelligence," which is a measurement of how well you manage your emotions when interacting and communicating with others.

Here's a picture of the of a quiz I took on the subject that I received back on Monday that required studying around 60 vocabulary words, of which only a few were chosen. A couple short answer questions were on the back. I received 18/20, or 90% which is an A in this class.

You guys are some serious students. Although the rules for the contest are flimsy at best, we are just going to roll with the punches here. Next friday the drawing will still happen. Future contests will still continue, and I'll make sure that they are not geared to exclude anyone.

All of my classes are Pre-AP, or advanced, except for gym (I am certainly not advanced in gym :D )
M/J Research is a program called Odyssey of the Mind, BTW.

I learned how to do many things in ALgebra, tha hardest being Chapter 5- slope & graphing and Y=mx+b, and all that... Err..

I did an Alphabet book on Alexander Hamilton in History, just so I could do a page for the mint, LOL

In LA we did the basic stuff, reading, DOL, etc. but I learned 'irregardless' isn't a word :D

    In Gym I learned nothing.

In Odyssey my team is building a vehicle so the entire thing has been a learning process, especially how to see eye-to-eye with others you dont really like.

And in science we learned many things, the last thing we worked on was Chemistry (the Periodic table of elements, we had to memorize it).

Here's the stuff that I learned: (by the way, my school is too poor to afford any advanced classes. We don't even have summer school, and if you fail a class then you have to redo it.)
Algebra: the thing I liked the best was factoring trinomials, and the hardest thing was graphing parabolas.
History: I learned about everything in the U.S up to the civil war.
Band: nothing new, but I was able to hit a triple F on trumpet very recently.
Science: I won 3 memory competition and I learned about the periodic table.
English: by far my least favorite class, Even though I am good at it. We are currently in the poetry unit (my least favorite), and I learned about injustice last quarter.
P.E: Nothing, because I found it stupid to do homework in P.E and I never really payed attention to it. I was able to upgrade my 2-mile time to 14 minutes and 32 seconds.

I also entered the inventions fair, where I am currently in the process of making a shoe that makes your foot smell good.
