Right on the money. Straight graded VG10, paid $219. I learned something about this coin from seeing the grades people guessed. The guesses ran higher than the actual grade which tells me it was net graded. I think it boils down to eye appeal despite the pitting. Only the fields show corrosion and the devices are smooth, making the design pop out, very appealing in hand. Also there doesn't appear to be active corrosion as it has a glossy, crusty look about it. It's one of my favorite coins in my collection.
Knowing very little about this coin, I just went off of the amount of wear that I saw. Based on that, I think NGC graded correctly here. I do agree with you that the coin has nice eye appeal and I think you picked a great coin for your collection.

Next up is an 1837 Feuchtwanger Cent. What did it sell for? Grade? Details (and reason) or not? If it helps the holder also has this info: HT-268 (6I)
Either yours, which is a much nicer example then mine, is undergraded, or mine is overgraded. NGC gave mine VF Details -
@Beefer518 was furthest from the grade, but closest to the selling price of $125...still you're the winner ....also no one got the details reason...this one ended up being harder to sell than I thought (maybe it was just due to fewer people collecting these?)...I personally thought it was interesting for a details coin.

I'll guess that the cleaning removed the top surface? Dunno much about their composition, so I figured ED. I'll have to find something to put up. If someone has something ready to post, go for it....
I'm not sure as I don't know too much about these either. I just bought this one because it looked interesting. I would have also guessed Environmental Damage before "Cleaned" if I didn't see the slab.
I wonder if cleaning and environmental damage are one in the same in this case. Cleaning was the cause and environmental damage was the effect.
Ok, I don't think I posted this one yet. 1864/1864 2¢ Large Motto RPD-011 BOUGHT for? Grade? Details/Straight? I bought this raw on the bay, and had ANACS grade it.
I had a feeling I did. All right.... we'll call this one a pass then? And if @Johndoe2000$ has something to post, I will pass the torch.
