GREAT spoof! Took me in wonderfully, since I've been 'preaching' that the Cent became obsolete fifty years ago.

Yup somebody puts this up every year. Not true, but......if the country does not turn for the better, I think any coin with a founding father + Lincoln will be put out to pasture. My thought completely. I won't give up on that point as well as hoarding silver. S

For me, the biggest clue was the repeated use of the word "pennies." LOL
I know, I know, even the mint often refers to them as pennies, but most reputable numismatic publications refer to it as a "cent."

Is it going to be a Lincoln Cent or a Zincoln? I will bid ONLY if a true Lincoln!

very sad..the longest running design and a tribute to an ok president...this sucks, guess i will buy as many 2022 cents as possible, and i do not think the validity of this story is very sound..since when does the us mint "auction" anything, and why styarting at 175.00?? even if the cents were made of silver not worth it

That was the only thing that sounded "off" to me, and I was gonna crack a joke about that line when I realized I'd been had.

Because it's September, not April, I was off my guard and swallowed the rest, just like Zoid did. Obviously I'd never seen the "joke" before.

I can't see the mint auctioning anything off............except, maybe, the national debt, which ain't gonna happen since regarding certain circumstances in the 'house' today...........you go Joe. devil.gif

This post will be gone by light of day.........
