WHAAaat? I have approx 5-million air miles under my belt over my career. And I have been collecting since I was 9. Many North American collectors I know (at least Ancients), have traveled to trade shows cross-country, overseas to visit historical sites, etc. Virtually all other Ancient collectors form outside North America that I have been in contact, are well traveled. I don't buy that generality.
1) I'm entirely certain you missed my intentionally obtuse (to stay within site rules) point. 2) Both you and I are "old school" collectors, and "App In The Air" tells me (I'm NOT into Ancients, by the way) that just since late February of 2014 I have logged 19,418 air miles and over 56 air hours going to major coin shows, and that doesn't include Amtrak miles which are easily that much again (miles, even more hours). Yet here on CoinTalk you'll hear even highly experienced moderators, to say nothing of Internet-focused kiddies and ideologues, that think that's just crazy crap. Said it before and I'll say it again, there is not A coin market. There are about three or four separate ones, and they almost never contact one another in any meaningful way. To me, and I realize I'm in the visiting team locker room here, it is the Internet segment that is the most bizarre one of them.
