Yes , The note has arrived back to the coin shop it originated from safe & sound. I am waiting on a reply from Coin World before we proceed with the sale. Thanks to all who participated.
At one time I had signed up to sign this note...during that time I had several procedures and missed out on it...I am sure this is a great piece and will make a very cool item in someone's collection. Good Luck and Congrats to the winner whomever they may be.. RickieB
But does anyone know who won it? I got an email from Bedford saying it had been listed for a week and only one bid, so I put in a bid and it was waaaay under what it was already at. I believe it closed on the 14th. Looks like Peter is going to get some nice change for everything he does here on CT. It was a pleasure being apart of this and can't wait to see who owns this beauty now.
I'm sure Jason will make an announcement shortly. Oh, and I bid too but it wasn't high enough. Someone really wants this note..........
Would anyone feel comfortable telling what their "failed" high bids were? Then we'd at least know it was higher than that....
Update on the note. It sold for $150 . Congratulations to the winner & thanks for stepping up . There were 2 bids entered for that number ($150) but the 1st bid took precedent. There were also a fair amount of bids from other members. In addition to the $150 that the Members Short Snorter sold for an additional $100 was given in kind to Peter by another generous member . I would like to thank that person again for their participation in this project & for their support of this site. This project brought $250 in total & I hear it will be used on a neat site upgrade. I would assume the winner may show off their spoil but it is not my place to name them. Thanks again to the winner , the supporter, to all the members here who participated & to those who just went along for the ride. Take care -J
Congratulations to the winning bidder and I'm glad the project brought in some nice money for the site. I am sure it will be used well.
