I was a collector kinda like a sport collecting silver and wheat penny's. Then because I can't sleep more than 5 hrs a night I saw their show in 2003. they were selling a PF 70 silver buffalo for like 500.00. Silver was around 4.70 / oz. I started doing my research I saw ebay was like half the price. I then noticed I could buy and grade them at NGC. The usmint web site was easy to find but the collectors society was a bit hard to find. Now I found the Silver eagles that my son was getting for his birthday could be graded. and the 1993 and the 1994 were big money. My quest began. I graded the 1994 and 1993 and got a 70 for the 1994. Basicly I am saying that Robert Chambers made me rich because he taught me the value of grading both proof and mint state silver eagles. I couldnt believe the 1995 W price. it was like 8,000.00 dollars. Whish I would have bought one. I did buy a set of 10th anniversary silver eagles. Mine came in as PF69. I now own a complete set of silver eagles PF70 with the exception of the 1995 which is a pf69. But I also boughtt about 300 sets of the 20th silver eagles for about an average price of 150.00 each. can you believe My average of grading these coins were about 40% of 70's. So I didn't buy much from the Coin Vault ( I bought the 20th anniversary MS70 Blue label for 1500.00 Broke even.) but I got motivated by the show and learned how to buy and grade my own coins. Still watch with regret that 10th anniversary which sells for a lowest price of 17900.00 from APMEX But I have lots of perfect sets because I used the coin vault as an educational tool.

Loving the Buffalos investment. Yes most of my buffalos were graded by me. same for my proof and MS eagles, not to mention my Silver pf70 statehood quarters. I was an ebay addict for price shopping since about the year 2000.

Robert Chambers taught me a lot. Love the anniversary eagle sets. can't wait until next year for the 30th. RIP Robert Chmbers. I couldn't watch the show but always recorded it then fast forward through it. The mint has improved their minting process so much that you can almost get 50% now. It doesn't pay to grade them now though, I get them from ebay now. Ebay, initative, research and the US Mint website and blogs were the biggest addition to my collections.
