Whoa, hold on, there! Not so fast! ;)

I don't have any Norway pics!

So I've gotta stay 1857 in the USA for this round.

Since we're still in the Good ol' USA, and I didn't get a chance to post my other "Holey Gold Hat-pedigreed" California gold fractional, here 'tis. An octagonal gold 50c piece.

The last digit in the date is pretty indistinct, but I'm pretty sure it was 1872.

The hole was just barelllllly closed, by the slenderest little "bridge" of metal along the edge. I was scared it was gonna break through, but it never did. You can tell someone had soldered it there once upon a time. I'll bet this was originally on a hat pin.

So anyway, 1872 or USA, next.

PS- if this were a more widely collected series, with all the varieties listed in the Red Book, I'll bet someone would've named this variety the "Sourpuss Liberty" or "Frowney Face". She's really got a pout goin' on, there! Looks like she's about to cry. :(:wacky:

(Maybe she didn't like almost having her head punctured; who knows.)

I'll go with the "just walked into a bathroom stall after someone else" variety :dead:

Man I need to retake pictures of my Morgans. but since I don't have any ready yet, I will have to move us to more modern coins.

This is one of my best CRH finds. I don't CRH very often and when I do I only get like 10 rolls at a time. 1959D002.jpg
    So US or 1959 next

    Hi, Abe!

You mentioned Morgans. I thought I didn't have any. I've had shockingly few over the years.

This one was on the Holey Coin Vest, though.

Artificially toned as all-getout, of course, but it had pretty "crayon" colors in hand. And when you're talking about a holey coin, you can just have fun with 'em and not be all uptight about stuff like that. Slabs? Pah! Problems? Hey, it's already holed. Cleaned? What do I care? As long as it's purty and I can hang it on my vest, it's all good!

The holeys were kind of liberating that way. A nice casual sort of collection.

That's 1889 or USA up next.

I have a Dansco Date set of Morgans. Mostly MS. This book is in our safety deposit box at the bank though. I took photos of the coins and had them printed out for my own records, then erased them off my comp. Regretting that move now.

Love seeing the fellow night hounds :)

Looks like I'm going to burn through all the rest of my US coins that I have photographed.

    Miss this one, kind of.

Too dark for some folks' tastes, but I like 'em "crusty" like this.

This one would actually meet the standards of my current Box of 20 collection, if I still owned it.

    So 1847 or USA, next.

Oh, hey, I'll play behind myself to switch us out of the USA for a bit, maybe.

    Anybody have Liberia? (or 1847)

This was a fairly recent coup. Ex- NGC PR64 BN. Now PCGS PR65 BN, and thereby the finest graded at either service, last I looked.

Sorry for bad pics on this one, iphones and ICCS flips don't mix :banghead:
