    A local SE GA detector find. Not by me, but by my buddy Billy Ridenour. He has found some really pristine early large cents. Interestingly, several have been this Sheldon-166 variety with the distinctive die crack on the reverse. There must've been a keg of them shipped to Savannah or thereabouts in 1798-1800 or so.

    Here's another one found around here.

    I've seen so many of my friends dig stuff like this, I hope mine will happen one day. So far the only Draped Bust cent I've dug was completely fried. It's a corroded slug, but was at least identifiable by type when it first came out of the ground.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

    I only have one picture of a US coin, and so I'll go with 1798, but Russia.

    That first one actually looks gradeable. Maybe high VF? Nice find!

    I'm stuck. No pictures of a Russian coin. Nor does it seem I have anything imaged from 1904.

    Anybody? Russia or 1904?

    @bart - That works. Thanks.

    Considering your avatar, I'll follow up with Belgium, too, although this issue is cataloged under the Austrian Netherlands.

    So to the next player, Belgium, Austria, Netherlands, or 1790 will work.

    this token was struck in Antwerp, which was in the Spanish Netherlands at the time....so 1657, Spain, or Belgium?

    This one is a good wild card. It a thaler from Bisanz, which is the modern city of Besançon, France but at the time this coin was minted, 1660 it was part of the Spanish Empire. It was granted the privilege to mint coins by Charles V, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and all coins minted here depict Charles V and the HRE emblem. So, you can match on France, as I did, Spain or any Holy Roman Empire coin or the year 1660.

    I don't really have enough coins imaged to participate here, but did you all know there's a US coin that has five different dates in four different centuries on it? :) That'd be one heck of a wildcard!
