We have stalled out for a few days....here is a 1968 RVN (Republic of Vietnam) 20 Dong.

 

Haven't used this in this thread yet (at least according to the search function though that could be wrong):

 

been away for awhile but still picking up coins .
Since the last coin had 1918, 1948 & 1968, I choose 1918.

I know I've not posted this before, didn't own it until a couple of weeks ago

Here is a very old coin from NE India (Nepal / Himalaya area). It was minted & circulated by the Indian prince who is known today as the prophet Buddha.

INDIA, Shakya
AR 5 Shana
ca. 600-500 B.C.
Budha Coin
6.71 gms, 26 mm x 19.5 mm
Obv: One pellet around a central pentagon, ten secondary punches on rectangular planchet
Rev: Blank pattern from anvil
Grade: Essentially as made.

 

It's too late to edit the post but I wanted to reiterate something I find interesting & cool about the 5 Shana coin. The prince & his family made these coins & they circulated in the realm. When Siddhartha Gautama became enlightened, he gave up all those worldly things. I think it's neat to have one of the Buddha's old worldly things in my collection.
