I just read the entire thread and am impressed with the pictures. They are supposed to be your own pictures, I think, but many of them look professionally done. What tool do you use?

(Sorry post a picture as I cannot match that last one.)

If you ask 5 people you might get 7 answers.

Some of mine are nothing more than my cell phone, but I also have a dedicated old camera body mounted with a bellows/lens set up and I use my laptop to control the shutter. Various lights, and a simple online photo editing tool. Mine are hardly the best, but are good enough for a forum.

The new cell phones are so good you can get some pretty awesome shots once you figure out lighting and get an adequate bit of software. I use PicMonkey (paid version). No fancy editing, but enough to get a template and cutting tool.

I don't have a coin that fits the thread to post, but here is a link to a random recent picture using my camera set up--learning to take adequate shots seems to be a natural extension for the coin collector who likes online forums.

Thanks Stork. PicMonkey is what I was looking for. Taking the pictures is not a problem, it is processing them.
