The "Coin Uno" or "Follow the Leader" game (World Coins edition)

What manufacturer would you suggest for a beginner, and what would be a good price to start with (for someone on a tight budget)?
I'm up in the northeast so I'd assume there's potential for some nice finds up here. I really want to search my childhood backyard to start once found a buffalo nickel sticking out of the dirt there umpteen years ago.

We'll stick with Mercs, found this one in a full roll of silver. Only S mint dime I've ever found in the 'wild'.
