    I thought you said you were gonna post an ugly half dollar. That's a fairly decent looking circ Barber half. Nice and original.

    What grade is that? It is slabbed but it doesn't look that great to me.

    If you zoom in, then in TEENSY TINSEY letters you can see the grade (MS-63 RB).

    Here is one I put on the counting backwards thread, but it fits here:

    1948 Japan (Showa 23). An interesting coin, the last where the date and legends are read right to left.

    It also reads Nippon Koku or 'Country of Japan', which is the current government or issuing authority. Previously it was Dai Nippon or 'Great Japan'. Transitionally it was Nippon Seifu or 'Government of Japan' which was during the post war years and before the new constitution was established.

    For the most part the transition from right-to-left into left-to-right corresponds with the use of Nippon Koku. This coin is thus a bit of an odd duck.
