Oh well, maybe he'll get a chuckle out of it. The quote from the listing is current, however. I think most "general" collectors like to have a few ancients, just to have them, so they're less concerned with types - as long as a coin is authentic and reasonably-priced.

Can you imagine such a listing in US coins? "Lincoln Cent, good condition. There are a few different reverse types but I can't catalog them all. You may not get the one pictured."

Yep - I have a couple of ancients. And yes for US coins it would be funny, but then again I think that is what EBAY is for at times. Some of those auctions are definitely a joke.
