    Right, what brought independence to the US could be called terrorism depending on what side one was on in the 18th century. The point is that in both the North American colonies and in Ireland it was a military conflict that resulted in independence. As opposed to how the colonial times in India and much of Africa ended ...

    It's not as if all the battles were irregular, there were sieges and European style line tactics in some places. Also the colonies were not exactly blowing up London bridge here, so I don't see how it could be called terrorism.
