This coin celebrates Canada's 100 years of nationhood. I have a similar coin for the 50th and 25th anniversaries, too. I found each of them at different times searching bank and customer rolled cents. I think that is an albatross on the reverse; but, some sites say it is a dove or "rock pigeon." I always admire how delightfully pretty Queen Elizabeth II appears on her coins.
We're celebrating our 150th this year. Btw - From the Royal Canadian Mint site - 1967 Reverse design by Alex Colville of a rock dove in flight
Thank you so much for bringing the 150 anniversary to my attention. (Happy Birthday). I will go to the Royal Canadian Mint site and see about getting a commemorative coin so I have all of them! And thanks about settling that issue (I had) about what kind of bird was on the reverse.
Your Indian coins are gorgeous. I've never seen any before. I don't know why I imagined they would be rather rustic. (Ignorance). They are beautiful. Thank you for showing them to us.
