Thanks Jello. The 1839 half sov. is DCAM and has a wonderful look to it. I have been after the 1934 Wreath for many years and although it is not a very high grade, I was not going to let the opportunity slip. There were only 932 struck and one wonders how many survive today. If eBay listings are anything to go by.....perhaps 10,000....hahaha . But this one is graded has some nice toning on the high points due to wear.
I need to get myself a BoE dollar with some clean strikes like that, the mohur is fantastic, it's the only gold coin I actually want. Unfortunately they're not in my price range right now and if we have kids might not be for another 40 year ! [emoji47] it's something to think about now.. [emoji848]
The BoE Dollar is a very good grade MS 62 and yes it is a bit pricey but well worth it, I think. The Mohur is and always will be one of my favourites and IMO the 1841 version is one of the nicer designs of the Mohur. Look what the friendly FedEx guy just delivered...
Very nice, the best I have is two BoE dollars with undertypes which I posted the other day, one F one GF may just creep VF. Fortunately I have identified the latest buy's host coin but in struggling for my first one I've always loved those mohurs too, the only gold coin I have owned was a 1788 Guinea but decided I prefer to have more silver one day I'll get myself one again but at the moment there are a lot of other coins I would prefer to spend the money on
Unfortunately I don't think there are many nice looking British silver coins except perhaps the 1847 gothic, the 1927-35 Crowns and a handful of others. I like the German states whalers and I think some of the Canadian, Australian and other commonwealth silver is nicer to look at. When you do decide to buy Gold again, don't forget the 1989 Tudor Sovereign 500th Anniversary. Beautiful isn't it???!!!
Yeah, it's awesome ! I don't particularly collect Our homeland coinage but I have a lot of it, funnily enough I don't have a godless or gothic florin yet ! I've always been more interested in British colonial stuff, so I have coins from almost all over crown sizes though l have the 1938 oz crown, 1949 NZ, Cyprus 45 piastres and quite a few more. Their designs are more interesting

Went to my bank today and was sorting out some of my earlier purchases. Was always fascinated by this one. Love the way they have got the gold a wonderful shade of black and grey. Its the 150th Anniversary of the first postage stamp the Penny Black. 5 ozt of .9999 fine. Used my phone camera so apologies for the picture quality.
