This one is a Jamaican 1/2 penny token of Francois Delcois- a barber who stamped his initials into anything around 1/2d size and is quite collectible.

Just got my nic-a-tone yesterday and it's dramatically improved my cleaned 1 Stampee

 

His arrived today I'm not expecting many more this year though very pleased with it seller had it at XF I would say it's a nice VF but maybe that's the difference between US/ UK grading

Postie brought me 3 new varieties of the ships, colonies & commerce tokens for me today.




The best one being this high grade PE10-7 which I got for a fraction of its value un-be knowingly to me as I had identified it wrong !

 

As well as my recent splurge on Canadian coins which will conclude for a while this month While I save for our holidays I've also bought this dollar when I shouldn't have, the under type was just too strong to not buy it, I hope the mintmark is visible when I get it in hand but by the photos the strike looks stronger where it would be ! At least the date of the host coin is evident 1808 CAROLOUS IIII which is the last year they were made

Thanks, I've noticed it's an 1808 CARLOUS dollar from Peru. The mintmark isn't visible but the positioning of the pillar in relation to "I" of HISPAN points to it, the weight is correct for the Peru issue and the date which is visible "1808" is written in the same style


I'm still un-decided about the other issue I have the cud looking piece is odd next to the crown on the other type, which is what made me think it could be a Guatemala dollar because of the pillar being so close to the legend. Anyway here they are together. Any ideas ? And a picture showing the detail on suspected Guatemala

1808 Peruvian mint mark yes. I gotta down South America in 1981. From a family that had found it farming. Few US Army items it's was mine.

 

Very nice ! Great to get it from a correct area too. I really like the Spanish colonial Reales but cannot bring myself to concentrate on anything other than what I already do Since it's a huge collecting area !
