I picked this 2014 set up directly from the Royal Mint soon after it's release. It was a new design. Sorry, I don't have pictures of the set, just promo design pics. The craftsmanship is excellent.
I've posted this coin in other threads, but seem appropriate. I won this at Heritage's Newman auction. It's a very cool orange gold Australian Sovereign.
here's two I just got. the 1837 1/2D completes my set I already have the 1831 and 1834 the 1881H Farthing Im usually not into farthings but I do like the heaton mint coins and now have the farthing 1/2D and 1D
Here's my last two for this month. Both British Administration of Java.. 1st up is the Tin Doit, fairly scarce in any condition due to the metal. The next is the rupee again a scarce piece. I'm happy with my 3 this week !
In keeping with Java I've decided to add the 1 Stiver 1815 in a bad grade since it's so scarce and a not all that much better 1 Doit as fillers mainly but also because the poor minting equipment means that most of the coinage is crappy anyway. The 1 st is particularly crappy but I'm happy to have one on its way because of the size of them there weren't many minted as they destroyed the equipment !
i just got this one. with a mintage of 470,000 and only 10 graded by pcgs/ngc i decided to get this 1897C Rupee. im interested to see what it will grade.
Sticking with the current trend I have I got these two I took a punt on the 3 shillings as it had a poor picture and unfortunately it's been graffitied. It was cheap though so I won't worry too much. The second is a 2 keping a from Sumatra the lighter weight version of the one I already have will upload the pics later when I have more time
Here is the 3s next to my contemporary fake which has been punched to prove its authenticity or lack of..
The silver one is 100% real I'm just gutted about the graffiti ! The brassy coloured one is slightly larger but I genuinely believe it to be a contemporary counterfeit due to the punch marks
