Here is a 1893 Hong Kong 1/2, and a Jamaica Penny (1909), which I add only because this thread prompted me to buy it from a local coin store for $5.
Well I got a curve ball for you. While buying coins from one of my british sellers I saw he had this item listed and I loved the design and bought it. Its not a coin but its gold and British. And it was only 40$. A late Victorian Continental 18ct yellow gold mounted shell carved cameo brooch, decorated with a head and shoulder portrait of a young lady the gold stamped 750 - dates c1900
Ive recently aquired a new love of maundy coins. Here are a few ive gotten: 1683 3 pence PCGS XF-40 This one is really tiny at 11mm and only 9,504 minted. 1922 4 pence only 1,609 minted
I really like the hong kong pieces I only have like 3 to date. I want to find a few nice ones to get slabbed for my daughter.
Well I got lucky and the same seller for the 1862 1/2D accepted my offer on the two below coins. Today was a good day. 1857 1D (plain Trident) 1887 1/2D
I see tons of British half pennies and pennies. Recently I found a 1965 Fiji 3-pence coin in a coin lot.
My last two weeks of change checking for the 2015 issues have gone very well. This year is a little more interesting though because they're issuing ones with the 4th and fifth portraits on including changing the basic £1 & £2 designs, the £2 technology is the last year now being in since '97 and replacing it is a new type of Britannia. I've posted my bunc one here earlier I now only need the 4th portait 50p and whatever commemoratives they decide to issue of the 4th portrait along with the 5th commemoratives and the 20,50, £1 & £2
Since I no longer live in the UK, I've had to resort to buying sets from the mint. With the new portrait there are a LOT of coins this year... And the fifth portrait, royal arms pound isn't even in the sets...
