I love them, I have the other date for alwar too and have one bikanir rupee. I've just sold the 2nd date issue that I also had since I decided not to get into collecting dates.
Awaiting delivery of this sweet 1888 groat to add to my type set. Even though it wasn't minted for use in England, I feel that my set needs these types (i.e., half-farthings and the like).
I have a spare half farthing somewhere I'll dig it out and if I can find it you can have it. I've got a spare first class stamp too so free ha ! I'll let you know when I find it I have a lot of these. I really like the denominations struck for colonies only. I don't have s quarter farthing yet but I've nearly bought one on several occasions ! There's certain dates of normal coinage that went to the windies and Caribbean too though such as the 1848 2d the 1950 &51 pennies and the 1952 6d there are some other Mandy type issues that went out but I can't think of them right now
You are (obviously) an awesome chap! All I'm missing are William IV 1/2 and 1/3 as well as the Victoria YH 1/4 and 1/3. I have everything else. There's a William 1/3 up for auction now that I might try and grab. It's not very pretty though. I just won a George IV 1828 1/2 last month. Don't see many of those.
It no bother I'll try to check tonight, I'm on nights this week so I'm a bit back to front that's all. I have most of them just not George or Will's 1/2 farthings ! I think there's 2 types off the top of my head of the George ones (ones where britannias helmet breaks the legend and one where it doesn't ?) My only advice would be to only buy at a quid or 2 for a filler if you have to since I'm now on a mission to upgrade a lot of my first year or so's worth of coins because I was happy with around fine grades. Now I want XF+ or VF toughies so it's a waiting game of course. I really look forward to seeing some more of your loot though mate
I like these have seen a few on eBay over the years, they don't particularly fit in my collection so I've avoided them since technically they became Portuguese ha! I like the countermarked coins and especially when they're cheekily on another countries coin !
Yeah quite a few I've posted some further back throughout this topic as there is also the sub-divisions of obviously East Friesland and Brunswick - Wolfenbuttel where GIV ruled prince regent
A handful of Hanover for @NeilUK Prince regent issues for Brunswick wolfenbuttel And my only other east Frisian coin
Thanks it's a strange part of my collection since it both fits and doesn't ! It was never considered part of the empire but obviously had the backing of its might something which was proven after the personal association with the British crown ended Prussia bagan to intimidate and eventually engulfed it. Obviously as you can tell that the2 Brunswick wolfenbuttel issues are the pride of my small sub collection for their nice grades the pfenning actually edging it because of the lustre !
I shared this in another section of TC but you guys might like too see this as well. I picked this large 2 pence up at a pawn shop a couple of weeks ago.
Ok so I've spent a lot this month but I've also sold a lot to accommodate this. Typically after that stüber came up that I've been chasing a long time another has turned up. So now I only need the C.v.C 1821 type to have all 3 issues I'm very pleased since these are the 2 scarcest types !
