The 1979 & 1980 Dollar Souvenir Sets

Just posting pictures of what the souvenir sets looked like. Apparently there were 2-types of packaging in which the sets were sold (can anyone provide more info regarding the 2 types of packaging?)

Each set contains 3 Susan B. Anthony $1 coins, one from each mint (San Francisco, Denver and Philadelphia). I think they are just regular business strike coins, nothing special (need citation).

There are also souvenir sets from 1981 and 1999 but I don't have any of those (can anyone provide info/pics on the sets from those years?)

These were sold at the mint gift shops.

 

Nice sets!!! I have the '79 but didin't want to bid on the '80 set. It was a little too salty for me. I would like to see the others also! Thanks for posting!!! (your hitting everything I like)

 

There were souvenir sets made in 1982 and 1983 as well.

 

I got these sets at a coin club raffle around 1982. Not sure if there was an 81 but the 79 and 80 were like the ones you listed as type 1. I'll have to dig them out and look

You have to check the 79-P for the Near Date wide rim, going to assume the S is the blob S.
