I said MS-64. I wanted to say FSB but it changed the grade so a 64 it remains.

The poll only allows one vote so I wasn't able to add FSB.

I forgot that option my bad. It's usually set at 2, not sure what happened.

MS 64 FB...a few too much contact for a gem grade and the dark marks are another reason I went a bit lower.

I could not pick two options in the poll so went with the grade only but I do think the full bands are there.

So most of what us seen in the photos are on the slab, Lady Merc has not a mark on her she is full and lustrous. There is one spot that is contact bag marked is the area in front of the chin between the L and IN God. And you have to look for it. There are a couple minor marks on the fasces that flash, but extremely minor.

Here is the grade, NGC gave this an MS65, I am a little baffled as to why they didn't give it FSB. Either way it will fit nicely into the No line Fatty collection.

Maybe NGC didn't use the Full Bands designation until later. It is an older slab.

I was wondering that. Maybe someone could help with that info.

I think they were as I found an NGC 3.0 (gold foil logo on reverse) with the FB designation. This is from GC:

Interesting, makes you wonder why they didn't call it FB. There is a full split on the bands and a distinct line.

They could have missed it, had a mechanical error (even back in the early era they made mistakes) or they were super conservative and felt it did not meet the standards.

I follow you, after all the designation is full strike.
