Ruben,it isn't safe to post your email address on board,as there's a lot of spam-bots around trawling for email addresses to offload their spam emails into.It is best to direct them to your email link through your profile. It is far safer.I just thought that I had better warn you.

I'm not feeling all that much ashamed at this, nor do I feel that it is appropriate for you to describe my collecting limited. I find it a bit condesending when someone would express sorrow for my for enjoying a hobby and living my life as I chose to. Its an overt attempt to make me an opbject of pitty, and believe me Bones, as professional Pharmacist, and a Programer, founder of 2 sucessful non-profits, as an educator, the owner of PhD and father of SIX healthy and bright kids, I'm not an object of pitty. And if anyone was to have pitty for me, it wouldn't be due to my coin collection.

The question you raise about the Buffalo's might be, or even probably is, a conflict of interest. One of the essential aspects of being a third party graders is to do just that, be an unbias third party. SO Bones, don't by those coins. Or work to create a national standard for 3rd party grading. If it ment this much to me, that is exactly what I'd do.

I can tell you this, its not worse than what happens in other industries. Pharmacy companies, for example, generate all the data and precautions used in the literature for new drugs, and then sell the drugs based on that information as it is approved by the FDA. Since the FDA doesn't do its own testing, the whole system is based on the honor system.

In addition, there are many companies which require this kind of third party assesments for any kind of transaction. Real Estate, Stocks, and other businesses must have third party oversite of the accounting and assestment of their asset which is on the market.

So this is neither unprecedented nor unique to coins.

While you might express sorrow for my limited collecting, I'm very impressed with your collection of busts and your ability to find all those wonderful coins. Now you have to be concern with conservation. In my experience, conservation is the single biggest problem that any collector faces over a long period of time. Slabs very much would help with that regard. More more to the point, as much as I admire your ability, and no matter how much arrogant faith I had in my ability, I would never buy your collection without first having them slabbed and tgw skabbed grades would be the starting point for this disucssion of prices and condition. I believe that if you are paying a fair market value for such coints, that this is an essential first step to completing the transaction.

Zane hasn't chosen to share that with me, If he choses to, then I'll learn something about the industy, This in no way will stop my from using third party graders judciously as I deem them to be useful.
