Ugh. I hate this thread. I want hotdogs now! Only problem is that gluten is banned in my household now. No buns. If you can't have a bun then what's the point. Hebrew National for the win. Grilled. Topped with carmelized onion, dill relish, mustard or brown mustard, ketchup. Atleast that's how I'd fix them if I had buns.
Martin Rosol's Hummel's Muckee's Here in Connecticut, we are lucky when it comes to hot dogs, kielbasa, and pizza. Oh...and Louie's and Ted's for burgers.
Yeah there probably is. Have you ever had gluten free bread? It's just not right lol. We have gluten free flour and it contains all sorts of weird stuff. Doesnt make gravy quite right either.
Gluten free hot dog buns are available https://www.schaer.com/en-us/p/hot-dog-rolls https://www.target.com/p/udi-s-gluten-free-hotdog-buns-14-3oz/-/A-16856732 https://www.target.com/p/ball-park-...VQRx9Ch2PWA6vEAQYBSABEgKQUPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Lately these have been my choice for hot dogs. With a side of either potato salad or macaroni salad usually. I don't normally put a bunch of toppings on them, just a little mustard and I'm ready to go. I used to just buy the regular Nathan's dogs years back, but they get rather boring without the extra spice, and these are bigger too.
I thought this thread was about liking hot dogs!!! Maybe I should actually read the OP posts from now on.
Also, discover some new mustards! Dragon's Breath, from somewhere in England. Also Waitrose hot English mustard is very good. Similar to the Aussie brand by Master Foods.
I don't know what it is about Walmart, but they discontinued what I preferred as the very best natural casing hot dog available in Louisiana. It was in their own Prima Della line. Of the natural casing dogs available to me now without buying from some distant place online, the Dietz & Watson New York style beats the Boar's Head by a nose. Kudos to the poster above who mentioned Gulden's which was once the only mustard you would find in the old Forbes Field where the Pittsburgh Pirates used to play ball. I have some Hebrew National dogs in the fridge right now, but even these—along with all of those listed in this poll—have more garlic in them than I prefer. Years ago I bought Oscar Mayer and I had some of these recently but they aren't what I remember. My doctor thinks I should stop eating hot dogs anyway.
