I received the Proof set today. Oddly enough, after a couple weeks of no information at all, I was flooded with emails as the set made its way through the post office system. The set is in good condition, but looking at it, compared last year, leaves one feeling that it is way over priced. My records show that I paid $68.20 for a 10 piece set. This year I paid $109.95 for a seven piece set with three fewer silver coins. This year, the 2021 quarter has two obverses. The Tuskegee Airman has the obverse that has been used since 1999. The Washington Crossing the Delaware piece has gone back to the old John Flannagan design. I never thought that I would say this, but I think that the Flannagan design looks better. EDITED TO SAY ... I just got out my 2020 silver Proof set. I forgot that they threw in a Reverse Proof West Point nickel a no extra charge. It shows how much prices have increased.
Tell me about it!!!I can't get a lot of coins that I really like including these^^^because of the prices hype.
If you've ever paid attention to the other major mints of the world the price increases were about the most predictable thing of all time. Even with the increases the US mints pricing is still significantly cheaper than the major world mints. I dont like that they're all so expensive, but the Morgans today would have been well over a 100 bucks each if they were done by the other major mints
