I figured I would post this relevant clip of Stephen Colbert's recent broadcast. If you don't know, John Stuart and Stephen Colbert are very popular comedic news programs for my generation (18-30). It is obviously spun to make using gold money appear ancient, barbaric and totally incompatible with modern society. But it still gives you a good idea of what information/disinformation that the masses are receiving on the topic. I only wish that Stephen bought his cup of starbucks coffee with 1 silver quarter and received no change. Of course, that scenario would be far too convenient and practical to show the audience. It may turn on a few light bulbs and get a minority of the audience to start asking questions as to the real reasons why we don't use gold/silver. http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/369834/january-04-2011/gold-faithful
At the end of the vid, you can watch the next segment where he has Ron Paul "point counterpoint" some schlub from the New York Times. The Times guy explains how gold is bad & inflation is good.
