The Baltimore Whitman Show is now only about 6 weeks away. I've been waiting for it. I haven't bought a coin since the Nov show mostly because I can't find anything on my wantlist. Well, that is anything priced reasonably. So now is the time to get my wantlist in order so that I don't do what I did in Nov. I bought a coin ($2000+) that I already had because I hadn't removed it from my wantlist. Fortunately I was dealing with a quality dealer (Gary Adkins). I swapped it at original cost plus some more cash for a coin I DID need. So now he's right up there on my "trusted dealers" list with Andy and Chris.
I've bought a few pieces from "the coin dealer of the year," but everytime I bring something to sell, he pretty much tosses it right back to me. And no, I'm not asking anywhere near retail prices. I'll still buy from him if I see something I need, but I'll never waste his time or mine again, when it comes to selling.
