I know this is an 1820 Large Cent, but what's with the 2 ?

    Is this a curled top 2 or a mis-strike ?

Is it large or small date ?

What condition/grade would you call it ?

looks like an 1820/19 overdate. General grade range: VG.

Not a curl top two as mentioned an 1820/19. And I agree a grade range of VG.

It is a large date curl top 2 and it is an overdate 1820/19 N-1. There are three overdates for this year N-1, 2, and 3. The N-1 shows the 2/1 the best. N-2 and N-3 are small dates with N-3 showing the overdate best with the 0/9. The N-2 isn't very impressive at all.

VG sharpness bad rim dent on the rev Net G-4.

Thanks Condor. I was not aware that there were 3 overdate types.

N-1 (Finest known) The 1 is clearly visible in the center of the 2 and the left edge of the curl is left of center of the 2.

N-2 (fourth finest known) The 1 is weak and left of center of the 2, the left edge of the curl is well right of the center of the 2.

N-3 (sixth finest known) The 1 is in the right side of the 2and is not very visible. the 9 can be seen inside the 0. Star 6 point well to the right of the coronet point.

N-1 is a large date, N-2 and 3 are small dates. Notice the shape of the 0. On the small dates the center it tall and thin with the left and right sides nearly parallel. On the large date the center opening is much more oval. All of them are curl top 2's.
