    Is that a die crack around almost the entire top half of that coin?

    Yes, there is extensive cracking through the stars. There is alos a scratch on the slab that is visible in the photo. I' not sure which you are referring to. Here's a larger shot of the obverse:

    p.s. I liked the coin for the strike and color, I'd probably call it a technical AU and was net graded into a 63 holder.

    I would bet that die didn't last much longer.Might have made a huge cud also.

    Its really a personal decision how much you want to pay for the coin...
    TT is a business and as such they are geared to profit. If one is a
    buyer they probably have a clever software system to maximize
    the value of a coin based on the # of clicks, etc. If one is a seller
    and the coin gets few to none clicks, the house can purchase the
    coin at a "low" value and then resell it later when the demand perks up.
