<p>
For the past 3-4 years, I've been working on getting my photography "up to snuff" so to speak. I have imaged most every coin in my own personal collection, but have in the past year or so started doing some "for hire" numismatic photography work. I have always admired the Talers that Zohar posts on these boards, and they present a challenge quite different from the usual material in my collection. Zohar sent me a nice batch of Talers last week, and I finished photographing them last night. There were a wide range of challenges associated with imaging these coins, just some of which were:</p><p><br /></p><p>1) they are behind plastic often scuffed and hairlined </p><p><br /></p><p>2) they have quite varied surfaces (some satiny luster, some prooflike mirrors, others glossy "skin"), </p><p><br /></p><p>3) some had very subtle color that I tried to pick up without getting the "tilted" axial look that blows out all of the fields.</p><p><br /></p><p>Thanks to Zohar for letting me take a stab at these historic coins, and overall, I think he was happy with the results (he gave me permission to start a thread here to show them all together). They were a very fun bunch to see in hand, and it's always good to add some variety to my portfolio. <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie8" alt=":D" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p>Cheers,</p><p>-Brandon</p><p><br /></p><p>==================================================</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1618_Austria_D3324_NGC_MS64_composite_gray_label_zps0652c7cf.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1631KB_Hungary_NGC_MS63_composite_gray_label_zps9c817967.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1641_Augsburg_Thaler_PCGS_MS64_composite_gray_label_zps4be6bea6.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1682_Salzburg_D3509_PCGS_MS63_composite_gray_label_v2_zps10b1a85f.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1704-3_Hall_NGC_MS64_composite_gray_label_overdate_zps41e72c28.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1707_Hall_NGC_MS64_composite_gray_label_zpsa3293cd9.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1716_Salzburg_D1238_PCGS_MS62_composite_gray_label_zps4e2c04cf.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1820_Austrial_HalfTaler_PCGS_MS64plus_composite_gray_labe_zpsd245e099.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb364/brg5658/Zohar/1855A_Austria_Taler-NG_MS65_composite_gray_label_zpsbdc0c78b.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" />
</p><p><br /></p>
