Coins for coins sake For sure, it was the wild array of beautiful and interesting coins my son and I pulled out of a scrap bin at a local flea market that hooked us both on collecting.
Combining most of above themes, this is one of my favorite reverses. My daughter was so happy when I picked one of these out of the world coin bin for her. Makes me want to go sit on a beach and do nothing else today.
I think I like all Bahamas coin...mainly after 1974... I got got this one from DeOrc, it has since become one of my favorite coins:
Here two coins that are nice for very different reasons IMO. I like this one because it has that quintessential 20's art nouveau maybe poster art feel to it. Probably was a very cutting edge modern art look for the time. I like this one because its just plain humble, very rustic... Both are pretty cheap
Notgeld from Thale, a town in the Harz mountains, in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Thale is famous for its "Hexentanzplatz", ie. place where the witches dance. But I don't know whether the cat was, in this case, meant to be the attribute of a witch. Christian
Thanks for the info- Just went and looked up "notgeld" coins on wikipedia and learned something new. Yet another type of coin I'd like to collect. Andy
