First off, I must apologize in advance for my lack of numismatic knowledge and it's lingo so please bear with me. Can anyone tell me more about some coins I have.. they are Commemorative Gold Coins from Taiwan, made to mark the 100th day of mourning of 3rd President Chiang Ching-Kuo's passing. The purity is .999 (fine gold), 12,000 minted in 1988, which would be 1977 on the Chinese calendar which is what is stamped on the coin. I have a 1 oz piece as well as a 1/2 oz piece. I have scoured the internet for answers to no avail.. if it would help, I can attach pics at a later time (at work now ). Interested in knowing its value not just as a gold piece, but with its sentimental and historical significance as well. Please let me know if anyone out there can help..
this might be a private issue gold bullion medal or coin. not official government issue coin. no face value. no record on the world catalog. at least you can get the gold bullion value. and be sure it is real gold.
