Tails design for 2018 Native American dollar coin

Jim Thorpe is the design for the Native American coin next year... What do you think of the design?

I agree. A decent likeness to him (better than some of the presidents) but I'm not sure of subject itself.

 

Not intended for circulation.
These coins that don't circulate are more like commems to me than actual coinage. They will find their way into circulation, when someone buys a bag of them from the mint (at a premium) get the 68's and 69's graded and dump the rest at face value into circulation.
I can't get excited about an NIFC, sorry.

 

I don't like the design IMO I think it should be more eagle designs and stuff like that then people.

I don’t like it either. Reminds me of the Florida State quarter with just too many different images

 

It the subject is Jim Thorpe then don't you think it should have Jim Thorpe on it? If you want eagles then it is the subject you don't like, not the design.

Great now an equally poorly executed and rendered Reverse to go with the ugly child with the ugly baby Obverse. It almost has that Hobo nickel look. Definitely not a fan of the cartoon style.

Okay I’ll be serious now. Although I’ve never appreciated the Sac. Dollar some do and actively collect them. I do think that the Jim Thorpe Reverse goes well with the American native series theme
