    well, i just completed my summer coin splurge. here's the first that rolled in, a coin that crossed two things off my list in one shot...

    SYRIA. Seleucis and Pieria. Antioch.
    AE Tetradrachm.
    Obv: AYTOK K ΓAI ME KYIN ΔEKKIOC CEB.
    Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
    Rev: ΔHMAPX EΞOYCIAC / S C.
    Eagle standing left on palm branch.
    Prieur 500? not sure about this part.
    27 mm
    11.8 g

    the obverse could be better, but dang that eagle is sweet. please feel free to post your trajan d coins or syrian tets!

    Rev: Two Pannoniae standing side-by-side each holding a standard. PANNONIAE.
    Grade: gEF essentially as struck. Wellcentered on flan with all legendslegible. Eye-catching planchet split at 2:00 does not affect any design.

    Very nice OP coin. Those Syrian Tetradrachms are on my wish list. They are often quite expensive. There was one a few months ago but it ended up selling before I could get my hands on it.

    It looks like to me there might be some BD on the edge. If that's true, I hope you manage to treat it before the coin gets eaten up. Because it definitely is a nice coin.

    that stuff looks like it is pretty solid on the macrinus..i'd love to have than one.
    he's on my list as well.

    i don't know why i said my coins was bronze, it's billon.
