Just as an experiment, I have taken some overly bright silver coins, wrapped some in brown paper, some in tissue paper, and put them in the wooden case with my mandolin, which also contains a small humidification device. Stay tuned for my next post sometime in the next 5 years. If they don't come out mondo-toned, at least they'll be mando-toned!
I'd check them every couple of months , just to monitor your coins progress , what humidity are you at ? If your mandolin case has a feltlike lining I'd keep a couple loose , one with the obverse up one with the obverse down . rzage
