Nice ones Zohar. I have seven more Swiss medals on the way. I'm also looking at picking up some German shooting medals.
They range in price from $40 to over $1000, with most MS examples available for +/- $150 if you can find them. I found this recently, actually it found me! 1905 Olten (Solothurn) R-1128b Silver - 23mm Holy Freres 795 minted The 1128b is the 23mm companion medal to the larger 45mm R-1127a as seen here..... The new medal was purchased from the family of the actual winner. Mint state condition in a perfect presentation case.
Those are some fantastic-looking medals. I have three shooting medals-- two from 1939 that were redeemable for cash until August 31, 1939, and this one from the July 1890 National Schuetzenfest in Frauenfeld:
1939 Gold shooting medal Instead of artwork, this national shooting festival medal just has lettering on the reverse: "Redeemable until 31 August 1939" and "One for all, all for one" I find it interesting that the expiration date for redemption was the day before World War II started in Europe.
