Nyatii I like running w/scissors. Makes me feel dangerous

All the raised spots around the BUS sure look cast. And, I've done a lot of casting.

Instead of shiny and lustrous, the coin looks dull and 'waxy' - also, the lack of any readily visible contact or bag marks anywhere on a raw Morgan dollar is highly suspicious

It's the wrong reverse hub for 78-CC. Definitely fake.

Balance it on your forefinger and tap the edge with a pencil, silver has a distinct ring.

NO need for any tests, etc. The rev. is of a 79...end of discussion.

Still a bad habit. Anyone ever hold a "silver" coin lightly between thumb and forefinger and blow hard on the edge to make it ring?

Never heard this. I’ll have to give this a try.

It looks to me like it could be a real Morgan that was plated. That would explain everything you saw. However, I don't think it's an original Carson City coin. If it is a real Morgan, the CC was added later. It's not one I would think about buying.
