thanks all for your the help guys Nice site i iam going to find archaeologiana in my country where i live
I have bought coins from both dealers and had no issues. They are reputable and if there is concern about fakes being sold by either one of them, it's news to me. If you have doubts about any coin, no matter what dealer you purchased it from, send it to a third party you trust for an 'in hand' opinion. Ultimately, you're the one who has to live with it.
It's my observation that the Nero ADLOCVT sestertii generally have very good obverse and reverse centering (try ACSearch to see what I mean), so I don't think the good centering of this coin is per se evidence that it may be a forgery. These are highly desirable coins, so it's worth sending to an authentication service to verify that it's genuine.
dear Ro, you know this coin is condemned, was told you before i don't know why you post or ask again?
Oki, was the coin condemned on another forum? Do you have the link? If it has been definitively condemned, then this: is disturbing
Did i ask it again Sorry, a friend on facebook says this about my coin if the edge of the coin at the point that I scored, and filing and if the points above are marked or visible small spherical balls are round and touch! and a molten coin no joke qyindi cast of a true! fake
here you post other foto's, and already seen as cast if you would add the bad part as you did here Joe would have said fake coin reports pls http://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=110280.msg672937#msg672937
ro ... sadly, I don't know what you're talking about ... ummm, if his coins are always suspect then quit buying from that dude (oh, but if you have a couple of fakes, then please don't put some sand on them and sell them to the next guy)
double post is not the problem i do same, but if its clear its fake and you know it, you should not open same here without mention other topic, it gets complex and you coin still fake.
As a general rule, jokes do not go well when translated. That even means when they pass between two people with a common language but a vastly different background. Bing and I are more likely to understand each other's jokes because we are old guys who spent time in the Army. We need to be a bit more careful when joking with people from the UK and even more with those for whom English is a second language even if their abilities in English enable them to teach it in college. All languages have idioms that can be misinterpreted and make what was intended in fun turn ugly.
At the risk of making this even more complicated, I read the Forvm link provided by Oki and there was very little discussion. I did not interpret the thread as a definitive condemnation of the coin although concerns were raised. I think the advice given by many posters in this thread is the best course of action: have the coin examined in hand by a true expert. David Sear is a possibility but perhaps there are other possibilities closer to Ro.
