The &quot;book value&quot; of an NGC MS67 RD is not $8500. Yes, NGC&#039;s claim of $1380 seems very far outside of what the markets seem to dictate (especially with the Heritage $282 July 2013 thrown in there), but PCGS&#039;s $8500 doesn&#039;t seem exceedingly (maybe 15-25% overvalued?) off, as your thread title would lead one to believe.</p><p><br /></p><p>This was NOT an $8500 book value coin going unsold for $400.</p><p><br /></p><p>PCGS MS67RD has seven examples in the population. NGC MS67RD has nearly 20 times that. Yes, it&#039;s possible that those 130 coins would grade out as PCGS MS67RD, but the fact that the owners don&#039;t have the coins crossed for the $6000 being left on the table leads me to believe otherwise.</p><p><br /></p><p>PCGS seems to have a supply-driven price in this case.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
