1863 F 233/312 A REV. Army & Navy Capitol OBV. A late Afternoon Ice breaker, The Obverse is covered in a Flashy Blue Tone. Reverse is a Lustrous Chocolate.
Not to cut on your token, I would be proud to own it, but what are those radial lines on the obverse? Were they on the planchet?
They look like lathe lines? I checked a few other examples. They all have them, some finer than others. I would think that they are part of the particular obv. die.
I would have much rather found this CWT raw, It is very lustrous, and not being able to see the blue luster covering the coin, I can agree.
I found an old candy tin from the civil war filled with them once. Have started listing them on eBay. Have sold about 50 of them with about 150 to do.
